The first steps begin at home

We've sold the Piano, we've sold a lot of the smaller kitchen equipment, we've sold the Nakamichi and other stereo equipment. We still havn't sold the 125 gallon aquarium, but it's only a matter of time, I hope!

The BMW M3 has been registered and smogged, it just needs a little ding fixed and detailing to make it perfect for selling soon, very soon.

The Alpha Romeo will take a bit more work to get it ready to sell. I have to extend it's temporary registration for another month so we can drive it over to the mechanic and get it fixed so it'll pass it's smog test for the final registration.

Now we have renters insurance, but need to get the camera and computer gear covered on a separate policy. Also need to get the medical insurance sorted out. And at least buy the first leg ticket to Hawaii before it becomes too expensive.

We both got Arcteryx Bora 80 backpacks. They are expensive, but we think worth it for the 2 or more years we hope to spend on the road. Besides these, we will both be carrying camera equipment - me in a Tamrac Expedition 4, and an REI Vagabond daypack. My theory is I can get most of the important items like passport, money and the Tamrac Expedition 4 camera pack into my REI Vagabond daypack. Then if the large backpack gets stolen, it and the contents are replaceable.

Right now I'm panicing about the amount of stuff we still have to sell. We've given the landlord notice to quit and committed to being in Hawaii to look after Jeff's Mom's house by 7th July, so it's a hard date in many ways.
